My apostrophes look like this: è, and itès really bugging my butt. It happened mid-post as I wrote the last two posts, and now I cannot change it. It never happens anywhere else (like when I write on Microsoft Word or Facebook), so I fail to suspect the keyboard. Any suggestions would be helpful. This post will be contraction-free for your pleasure, and I intend to italicize what rightfully belongs within quotation marks. And the spell-check is somehow disabled, so ecspect some errors.
But that is not the highlight of this post. It is this blog: Liberal Debutante. Take a look over there. She has got a new format that is all bright and shiny. I used to read her blog all the time, but I do not really nearly as often since I started sneak-reading blogs at work. Liberal Debutante is the only blog on my role that is banned by the school board interwebs filter-thingy. A big red banner blocks the screen and says, Stop trying to look at the evilness, you crazy sinner, or something like that. It also comes up when I google vegetarianism, but not the Heritage Front (a Canadian white supremacy group). The mind boggles.
Now check out that blog roll on your right. I have several pro-porn sights with very sexy pictures that are deemed cool to check out at work. But I am banned from reading about environmental issues or music or atheism or education. Katie has a picture of wine bottles that might look phallic-like to someone looking for it hard enough, and cartoony pictures of dinosaurs interacting - maybe they are thinking about sex. Or maybe their offensiveness is just from having existed long before people, which makes Genesis tricky to explain.
And when I obsessively check my stats to see if everyone has deserted me because I neglect to write for weeks at a time, a good number of people come from her place, this post* in particular which links to something I wrote almost a year ago called The Evils of Pornography, but really focuses on the evils of censorship. I like to be ironic like that. That one post of hers must get ten times the reading of my entire blog. Which is lucky for me, because it seems to be keeping me afloat. That and this post of mine - who knew so many people were fascinated by men in skirts. Go figure.
*Okay, that one photo at L.D. is a little racy - but his penis is obscured (or mutated). And does it really compare in sinfulness to, well, to some other stuff I could link to. I think not.

i sort of kind of love that its banned. weird. but awesome.
I clicked on the site expecting it to be banned. My employer bans all sorts of sites, including a lot of parenting/birth/breastfeeding blogs due to some general "sex/porn" rule. I can't even check my yahoo email. But this blog is not blocked. I shall go read now.
